ANDY GROD DECIDES NOT TO RETURN

TO THE GRUNDY COUNTY SPEEDWAY

For the past 30 years, I have had the pleasure of being the Public Relations Director at the Grundy County Speedway (during the first 20 years, I was also the Public Relations Director at the Illiana Motor Speedway, in Schererville, Indiana).

Putting together the Souvenir Program, placing advertising for the speedway, sending out Press Releases, writing the race report and results for the media, doing the point standings in all four divisions, being the track photographer along with my son, maintaining and updating www.grundycountyspeedway.com each week during the season and preparing and reading the stats on all the drivers at the Awards Banquet was a lot of work, but I enjoyed doing it for the fans, the drivers and the Grundy County Speedway.

As you may or may not know, I had a serious health issue last April that slowed me down.

At age 63, due to my health and other issues, I have decided NOT to return to the speedway.

I want to thank Ron Snow and the Grundy County Fair Board for the opportunity to continue in my same capacity for the 2011 season, but for the reasons stated above, I must decline.

I wish everyone a great 2011 racing season.

                                                                                 Sincerely,

                                                                                 Andy Grod

The only unsettled item in my leaving is the Grundy County Speedway Souvenir Program.

I told Ron on Thursday to have the person who he chooses to do the program  to call me and I would be glad to work with that person in preparing the program.  Also, that I would turn over all ad copy and money collected from advertisers to the speedway.

As of Sunday, I have not heard from Ron.

If they decide not to have a program for 2011,(which I would really hope is not the case), all money collected will be returned to the advertisers.
